Advent....

This is the third Sunday of Advent, and it is the day to light three purple - or blue - candles on the

Advent wreath.   Sometimes the third candle is pink - or rose.  It is the symbol of Christ our Joy.

"When they saw the star, they were filled with joy."

  1. Prayers for all this Sunday for joy and for healing. Having a holiday lunch with one of my dearest friends today. So grateful for the gift of friendship, near and far!

  2. Naturally, I would prefer the pink or rose color! :-)

This world of ours needs all the warm colors it can get, me'thinks. Especially at this time, in our Beloved Country.

And thank you so much for keeping- on-keeping-on as it were. Our posts and our comments, are our form of sharing gentle hugs, with our Dear Blogging Friends. Which I happen to think is very important, at such a time of sadness in the news.

    Hugs...

  8. It's so important to remember that there is a difference between happiness and joy. Even when we're not happy about a situation, we can still have that inner joy that only Jesus brings! Someone has said "happiness depends on happenings, but joy depends on Jesus," and I like that very much! :-)

  11. Advent is a fabulous time ---a time of anticipation... But---the events of this week have certainly put a 'damper' on our joy... God be with those people in Connecticut.
