Week-end adventures....

Happy Monday to you!  Did you have a good week-end?

Since Munchomom became a mother (to Boy Munchkin), we have shared Mother's Day with her and the family.  When they were in town, that involved The Husband picking up lunch for Sunday.  When they moved out-of-town four years ago, that tradition became a week-end trip.

So - on Saturday morning, off we went to the small town where they now live.  The plan was for The Husband to pick up Saturday lunch at Wendy's, an outlet located in this small town.  When we arrived, we were met by employees with the news that a power outage had occurred, and service was unavailable.:-(   We actually didn't have a "Plan B."  Very quickly, we went to the nearby super market, now operating with their large generator, and picked up some items we knew would be popular with everyone.

We also heard there that the power outage was rather widespread, cause presently unknown, and estimate of restoration was 2:30 in the afternoon!  Sure enough, just a few minutes before 2:30, power was restored at the Muncho home.

I mentioned the possibility of chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Here are the strawberries, freshly picked from a nearby farm!

Here is the chocolate, baked by Machoman with assistance from the Munchkins!

We always look forward to this trip since we are able to purchase those local strawberries.

It is easy to see that the chocolate was a real success!:-)

On our return home, we went by to visit with the Country Couple, as there had been a dinner invitation from them.  We were warmly welcomed by all residents of the farm!

Diesel, the "barn cat."

Cupcake, the chicken.

Cob, the rooster

Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, and Esau, the sheep - new additions.

Also, last week The Husband had helped Country Man work on the garden.

A rather large area!

And - some iris are blooming!

I really like the Iris!

It was a busy week-end, and now things are back to the usual routine.

I hope the day ahead, though I am late beginning my posting, will be a good one for you!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  4. Oh, what a wonderful weekend you had! The Munch/Macho family is made up of delightful people, so I'm sure there was lots of fun involved with the cake, as well as everything else you did! The animals on the Country Couple's farm seem to be doing quite well, and I'm sure there will be some great produce from their garden when the time comes. You are most blessed with a wonderful family, and we love them, too! :-) Have a great afternoon, Sister!
