On the shelf....

Continuing on with this Cookbook Wednesday series, I have taken a book that I have never used from the shelf.

A collection of recipes from cookbooks across my native state, it has been part of my cookbook library for a number of years.

The table of contents looks interesting.

There are recipes for every occasion inside the book.

This one is good for a small number.....

....while you might consider this one if you are serving more than 40!

Do you have plans to entertain for the Super Bowl?  This might be a possibility.

Then there is this one that sounds good for those of us who are conscious of our sodium and calorie intake.

Only one more Wednesday for this Cookbook Wednesday series that Louise at Months of Edible Celebrations has been sponsoring.  I'm looking for just the right one to close out the series!  There are several options available.:-)  I think you would be able to check out other blogs by going to monthsofediblecelebrations.blogspot.com.

  1. Nellie, That is some heavy duty cooking. I would love to try a taste of those million dollars eggs. :) I saw a really good recipe on BJ's blog yesterday. She's a good cook also. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. I generally make at least 50 meatballs for my hungry horde - 6 large, ever-starving sons, a husband and 3 daughters. Sometimes it's astonishing what young men can eat (and it's easy to hate them for never gaining weight, too). I've been enjoying Louise's Cookbook Wednesdays, and will be sorry when she ends them. Your regional cookbook is a really nice selection for this spotlight!

  4. Hi Nelie!
You did GREAT adding your link to Cookbook Wednesday. There was a glitch on the Linky so it wasn't you:) All fixed now.

I LOVE regional cookbooks and this one looks like another I should add to my collection. Recipes for large crowds are hard to come by these days. I'm thinking those Million Dollar Eggs would make a great dish luncheon dish.

Thank you so much for sharing, Nellie and thank you for joining in on Cookbook Wednesday. I can hardly wait to see which one you choose for the finale!!!

  5. These recipes all look good, but I would probably have to call in the militia to help peel all those eggs for that one! Hope you're enjoying this sunny Wednesday, Sister!

  6. That cookbook would have been good when I had a crowd to feed. Now I look for smaller recipes. It might be good for church groups caterings.
