From bagpipes to bluegrass....

The Husband and I recently journeyed to the small town where Country Girl lives for their Spring Festival.  There is also one scheduled in the Fall.   We have been several times, but this was the first time in a few years.  Country Girl has lived in that area for 15 years, so it is a familiar location.

The Pipes and Drums entertained in front of the Visitor's Center.

Another view.

The man on the right spoke about the instruments.

A bluegrass band performing on stage at the Heritage Center.
The Husband is a fan of bluegrass.  Me, not so much.:-)  Both of us, however, did enjoy hearing the Pipes and Drums play.  That was the first time we had been in close proximity with such a group as they performed.

Now, it is off to chores that await me today!  Already we have been to the garden this morning!

Thank you so much for reading.  I truly enjoy your comments.

  1. i love bagpipes! looks like you had lots of fun!

  2. The pictures are great. I am glad you had such a good time.

  3. That is the only way I like a man in skirts...playing the bagpipes. Nice photos. Smiles, Susie

  4. This does look like a fun time to be in that small town! They plan so many festivities to draw the public, and yet, everything remains calm and unhurried. So happy you were able to stay for several hours, and even work in a visit with Country Girl and her Country Man!

  5. Looks like a fun evening. Josie's never seen a bagpipe. She'd probably love it.

  6. Mmmmmm, Festivals are fun!!! And Pipes and Drums rock! ,-)

  7. It looks like a fun day. I like bagpipes too. I am okay with blue grass to a point.
It is nice that you have had so much to do lately. Your garden looks really nice too. I love that there is no weeds. Your potatoes look great.

  8. How lovely !
I grew up with the sounds of bagpipes, being a Scottish Dancer, for much of my youth, the still give me goosebumps ( of the good kind)
I'd enjoy the Bluegrass, it's something I've learned to appreciate..
Such a lovely day out ..

  9. What a fun day. I actually love bagpipes even though they do have a slightly mournful sound. I am not a big fan of bluegrass either. xo Diana

  10. I get to experience bagpipes at the kids school prize giving -only one left, now! You wouldn't believe the volume inside a large hall!
