That's right! Boxes of hardwood flooring! It has been a plan to replace all the carpet in the house with hardwood, and The Husband has one more room to complete. You may be able to see the room just ahead in the 2nd picture.
He first began this project a few years ago with the hallway. What a place to begin! All those doorways and thresholds into rooms! That was beginning with the most difficult step! Now he has reached the last room! Whew! The carpet is being removed, and it won't be long before I will hear that nailer at work!
Enjoy your Saturday! We will take time to watch the Vols play Auburn on TV! Go Vols!
Oh! Remember that silly clock action tonight! Spring forward!
I love hardwood floors and would never go back to wall to wall carpets. It's so much easier to keep clean.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder.
Hugs, Julia
Nellie, You will love the floors. I have a few throw rugs here and there, but I like using the swifter to clean. Stay warm and dry, Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That is a huge project and what a lot of work to start with the hall first. I am kind of like that, too. If I have a task I do the hardest part first so that I can 'skate through' the easier parts. The wood is lovely!!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHow nice, Nellie! It will be lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love hardwood floors. So glad we got them in our new house.
ReplyDeleteI love hardwood floors, Nellie. Your's are looking lovely. We had hardwood installed in our home over 30 years ago. Your husband is tackling a huge project--well done! We do winter projects, too. It's good to focus on the inside in winter. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Nellie, the floors already look so beautiful. What a guy your hubs is! And your chicken salad looks luscious, too. Have a nice weekend! Susan
ReplyDeleteI think your other friends have said it all, Sister! The Husband is great at DIY projects, and he's fearless when a difficult project comes along! I hope you've had a good Saturday....I've been away for most of the day, but it's good to be home now, and I've already changed two clocks and the phone! Love you!
ReplyDeleteI have hardwood floors. They don't look all that great at present. I guess they need some kind of cleaning and polishing, but I'm not capable, physically, of doing such a thing. Besides, I don't really know what to do. I like the hardwood floors, especially when a dog has an accident, but they're kind of chilly during the winter so I have a few area rugs. I also find that it helps to wear cushioned slippers around the house since there's no carpet padding.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
