In August....

Saturday is here!  Hopefully you have some good plans for something that will be enjoyable.

The other day, I went out walking around our property and took some pictures of "August."

Some flower seeds I planted actually came up - and there are blooms!

Although something "chomped" on the leaves of the David Austin rose, there has been new growth!

The birds have been busy!  This is what The Husband calls "Broom Corn" among the blooming chives.

And - here is another stalk of that "Broom Corn!"

Crepe Myrtle in the back....

....and Crepe Myrtle in the front.

There are a few pears on the tree....

....and a few more blueberries to ripen.

This squash plant is still blooming!

There are watermelons!

Though you are able to see ripe tomatoes on the vine, it is also easy to tell that there will be no more from these vines this season.

The sunflowers were drooping on this day.  It was cloudy, with a chance of rain in the forecast.

Well, this has been a walk around part of our property.  Thank you for coming along with me.

I appreciate your comments.

  1. Very lovely, and I can say with assurance that those tomatoes from your garden are luscious! You have both worked hard to keep your property looking neat, and I thank you for sharing its beauty with us. Have a Super Saturday, Sister! Love you!

  2. All the hard work and effort that takes is definitely not lost on me. My hat is off to you!

  3. Wow, what a pretty yard you have along with lots still going on. Those blueberries and watermelon...oh my! And...and that pear tree, how exciting and so many beautiful flowers!

  4. Nellie, You have some beautiful things growing there. I love the little pear tree.:):) There's a man my sister and I know and he has told to help ourselves to some pears from all of his trees.. They will be ready in a few weeks. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. It's starting to feel like fall is near here too. It's been cooler lately and lots of rain...

Nice to have pears off the tree. I love pears.

  8. Pretty Nellie very very pretty. Hug B

  9. Such a fun tour. We took the girls to a sunflower farm near the cottage on Saturday. It made for some fun pictures!
