Marching along....

How has March been for you where you are thus far?  I read somewhere that for around here, if we liked February, we would like March as they were expected to be about the same as far as weather is concerned.  Well, we have had record-setting rainfall during February with approximately 10 inches coming within one week.  There has been flooding in several areas, and schools never did resume a regular routine last week.

On a recent neighborhood walk, I took these pictures....

The blooming of daffodils is usually associated with the arrival of spring.  However, we are expecting to have low overnight temperatures into the teens for the next three nights!  I predict some drooping heads on these lovely blooms come Wednesday!

Are you having signs of spring where you are?

  1. Sister, I read something recently that I hadn't heard before about daffodils. If they're blooming downward, then expect more cold weather, but if those blooms are aimed upward, warmer weather is near! Not sure whether this is any more dependable than the groundhog in February, but it would be good to observe and see how accurate it turns out to be! Down here, I haven't seen any daffodils, but there are buds on many trees, so that's a sign of hope, right? Stay warm and dry up there! Love you!

  2. Nellie, Those sweet daffodils are such a hope for spring. I love seeing them. The sun is out here and it's 2 degrees. Brr. We had snow yesterday and that is why it's so cold. But oh that wonderful sun shining down on us makes me smile. Blessings to you, stay warm. xoxo, Susie

  4. Such a pretty display of daffodils, Nellie. I'm so sorry you have had so much rain! We have too, but not as much as you. Spring is not showing her signs here, but I am ready. xo
