Baking Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday!
Helping celebrate a very special birthday for The Husband's cousin. Are you able to see the writing on the cake? She was 95 years old on March 30!
These flowers were blooming in her yard!
This is the first Tuesday of the month, time for that lunch for the adult day care participants at our church. On the menu - sliced ham with raisin sauce, green bean casserole, that apricot-pineapple gelatin salad, a whole wheat roll, and coconut sour cream dream cake. I'd better get busy!:-)
Thank you for reading. I appreciate your comments.

95 years, wow, beautiful cake too!
Oh, yum, I will be there for your lunch. Save me a piece of cake please.ReplyDelete
Nellie, I laugh sometimes when I visit your site...you are always cooking girl. Makes my mouth water when I see some of that good stuff. Wow, your husband cousin, 95, what a good life. Enjoy yourself today while with your friends. xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
The Husband's cousin is a truly remarkable lady, still taking care of her own home and herself!! I'm sure she enjoyed the visit from you and your family! That menu sounds really yummy, and those folks at the adult day care will enjoy every morsel. Have a great day, and take care of yourself! :-)ReplyDelete
You have been busy. It all looks very nice though. I am so glad you have flowers and not snow. :)ReplyDelete
You have been busy, your menu sounds delicious, will you be sharing any recipes for the salad and the cake? I'd love to try both of those. ;-) xoReplyDelete
Happy Birthday to the lucky lady. Lucky to be 95 and still be living in her own home. If those flowers are blooming in her yard, it must be so.ReplyDelete
And lucky adult day care participants, whom you will be feeding. :-)
That coconut sour cream cake sounds like a dream to me! At my Mom's day care program they have similar meals. Except desserts are not as exciting as yours - they get fresh fruit and yogurt.ReplyDelete
Those hot cross buns are calling to me.ReplyDelete
Happy Birthday to husbands cousin. : )
My daughters birthday was Mar 31 - the second time her life that her birthday was on Easter.
Hi dear Nellie,ReplyDelete
Thanks for stopping by. YOU HAVE BEEN BUSY! I love the cake for the 95 year old, I love the hot cross buns, and everything else you do. Talk about no wasting of time.
Sending a big hug,
Happy 95! What a wonderful time to celebrate. I'm in awe of your coconut cake. I wish that I was closer.ReplyDelete
Hi Nellie, Sad tonight that the Lady Vols didn't win.. BUT--overall, Holly did a great job with the team in her FIRST year. They did much better than many folks thought they would.ReplyDelete
Looks like you have been in the kitchen alot this month....
We had sleet around here tonight... Still waiting for Spring... Maybe by this weekend, we'll get some warmer weather... Hope so..
Happy Birthday to your hubby's cousin. 95, huh??? So neat!!!!!

It looks like you have been busy, Nellie. It is starting to look like Spring around your place- xo DianaReplyDelete
Everything looks so delicious. Despite your late snow, you have blooms! I'm jealous. Our yard is so brown and dingy right now. I'm tempted to fast-forward right to May!ReplyDelete
Love the flowers on that cake - don't think I've ever seen icing mums!ReplyDelete
