A couple of weeks ago I went on a shopping trip. No. It wasn't to a dress shop!:-) It was to a garden center.

|Oak Leaf Hydrangea!|
I've wanted to add an Oak Leaf Hydrangea for sometime now, and I finally just went out and bought one.:-)
We are in the process of setting up the flower bed. I should have taken a "before" picture, but did not, and it will be a couple of days or so before I take a picture of the "after.":-) I think everyone knows that we plant a garden this year to enjoy next year.:-)
Have you added any different plants to your flower garden this year? What is one of your favorites?
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Your plants are lovely, and I'm sure they will thrive with you and The Husband taking care of them. We have no place to plant anything here, but a former neighbor did a LOT of planting in the little corner next to her porch, and there are still some gorgeous knock-out roses that are blooming, with no effort expended from the current tenants. Have a great day, Sister! :-)ReplyDelete
Lovely flowers Nellie. Good luck setting up the flower bed! I can't wait to see the "after" pictures :)ReplyDelete
Good luck with your Oakleaf Hydrangea and you new rose bush. I'm looking forward to seeing your new flowerbed.ReplyDelete
I have so many plants in my flower gardens that I'm trying to stop buying new plants. I bought 2 small bushes Hydrangea bushes that don't grow big last year and it was at the end of season sale and I didn't know where to plant them.
So, late last fall when I thought they were dead, I put them against the cedar hedge for winter protection just in case they were still half alive and Glory be, they are in full foliage right now. I'll have to find a place for them when I get the time , soon I hope.
We used to have Oak Leaf hydrangeas at our old house and we tried to move them, when we moved, most of them died. They really seem to take a lot of water so make sure to give it lots of drinks this time of year. Love garden shopping.ReplyDelete
i love my oakleaf hydrangeas. they are my 'season signal' plants. you can tell what time of year it is just by looking at them. once they start turning color, i know that fall is on the way!ReplyDelete
The roses will be lovely next year Nellie!ReplyDelete
Nellie, I love the two plants you chose. This year I have only bought annuals so far. But since my wildflowers did do worth a hoot...I may just buy some shrubs to put in that spot. Blessings, xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
they are beautiful, I have never had one but I will enjoy looking at yours!ReplyDelete
My favorite kind of places to visit, garden centers.ReplyDelete
I love planting new beds. I am always adding.
I think it is a problem with me. :)
Hi Nellie , your flowers are lovely , only add a few roses , we are planting every thing in the garden . The pomegranate trees is full of small ones , waiting to see what the pecan trees will do . Thanks for sharing :)ReplyDelete
I'd much rather go shopping in a nursery than a dress shop. : )ReplyDelete
I've never seen an oak leaf Hydrangea - very pretty.
As you probably know we are doing pumpkins for the first time.
That's the kinds of shopping trips I take too!!!! No clothes shopping for me... Just take me to a garden center (or a place to buy bird seed)... ha haReplyDelete
Love your rose and hydrangea... SO pretty...
My husband loves to visit garden centers. He's famous for coming home with plants that were deeply discounted that need a little tender loving care. I guess there could be worse addictions. Happy almost weekend!ReplyDelete
