More September surprises....

Thursday already!  This means the week-end is not far away!  Has it been a busy week for you?

Our garden continues to surprise us.

Does anyone know what happened to cause this sweet potato to be like this when it was dug?  All the sweet potatoes from one plant were like this, but worse.  Never fear, though.  The Husband was able to find these:

We have good luck with keeping sweet potatoes through the winter months, and this is only a portion of what we hope we will find as the rest of them are dug!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  3. Sweet potatoes are so nutritious and tasty are are a favorite of mine although I don't grow them.

It looks like your plant has been hit with Black Rot fungus called Ceratocestis. It's apparently a seed borne fungus.

I hope the other plants are healthy.
    Hugs,
    JB

  5. I have no idea what would cause that. Looks like you got some good ones too though.
    Love sweet potatoes.
We have about 20 pumpkins - some are orange but some are still green. We aren't sure when to take them off the vine.
