One of summer's prizes....

One of my favorite "prizes" from the summer garden is this:

Watermelon!
Yes, The Husband brought this in on Sunday afternoon!  Just to be sure it was worth keeping, he did that old-fashioned "plugging!"

Looking good!

And - tasting even better!

The first of the season!

We find that a cold slice of watermelon is very refreshing on a hot day!

I hope this Tuesday will be a good one for you.  The week is well-underway around here!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  6. Oh, my!! Now, I'm wanting some watermelon SOOOO badly! Around here, though,I'm the only one who likes it. My hubby likes cantaloupe, and I'm not fond of it, so we're like Jack Sprat and his wife, I guess, and it's expensive to buy small servings of these melons. You and The Husband have done very well this season! Have a terrific Tuesday!

  10. Wow! What a beautiful watermelon. That cataloupe picked recently looks delicious too. I'm sure you will be enjoying lots of lovely fruit and vegies as Autumn days come along. Reward for hard work and good care.

  13. What a beautiful melon. It's another hot day in MI. Josie's classroom would have loved your juicy melon yesterday. Her teacher said it reached 95 degrees in the classroom. I can't imagine much learning took place yesterday.
