One of my favorite "prizes" from the summer garden is this:

Yes, The Husband brought this in on Sunday afternoon! Just to be sure it was worth keeping, he did that old-fashioned "plugging!"
And - tasting even better!
|The first of the season!|
We find that a cold slice of watermelon is very refreshing on a hot day!
I hope this Tuesday will be a good one for you. The week is well-underway around here!
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Nellie, Pass me some of that watermelon....it's going to be 95 here today. :):) What a beautiful melon. You and your husband are very good gardeners. Blessings, xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
I would love a slice of that watermelon!!ReplyDelete
Congratulations on growing such a nice melon. It looks like you gave it lots of love. Enjoy. Nothing as refreshing on a hot day.ReplyDelete
Nellie , what a beautiful melon , you can teel it's sweet by the color , thanks for sharing :).ReplyDelete
I always remember as a kid sitting with friends eating watermelon and having seed spitting competitions!ReplyDelete
Oh, my!! Now, I'm wanting some watermelon SOOOO badly! Around here, though,I'm the only one who likes it. My hubby likes cantaloupe, and I'm not fond of it, so we're like Jack Sprat and his wife, I guess, and it's expensive to buy small servings of these melons. You and The Husband have done very well this season! Have a terrific Tuesday!ReplyDelete
the watermelon looks good!!!! nothing taste better on a hot day as a slice of cold watermelon. but here is it cold and rainy.
wishing you a nice week,
Mouth watering good. : )ReplyDelete
Makes me pee like a racehorse, but I sure do love 'em!ReplyDelete
Oh- That looks SOOO good. I could go for a good cold slice of that today. It is in the mid-90's here and breaking all kinds of records. xo DianaReplyDelete
Wow! What a beautiful watermelon. That cataloupe picked recently looks delicious too. I'm sure you will be enjoying lots of lovely fruit and vegies as Autumn days come along. Reward for hard work and good care.ReplyDelete
What a beautiful melon! With tomorrow's high temperatures (here, at least!), that would be welcome.ReplyDelete
That sure is one mouth watering watermelon, Nellie! I can't believe I haven't had any watermelon this year. No ANY! (I'll just dream of yours for now:)ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing...
What a beautiful melon. It's another hot day in MI. Josie's classroom would have loved your juicy melon yesterday. Her teacher said it reached 95 degrees in the classroom. I can't imagine much learning took place yesterday.ReplyDelete
Nothing beats some watermelon on a hot summer day :)ReplyDelete
