What a difference a day makes.....

Happy first day of February to you!  Do you have some special plans for the week-end?

You will remember when I posted this for you.

The street leading out of our area.

Just a little more than twenty-four hours later, this is how that same street looked.

The sun has done its work.

Looking in the other direction....

From the first day....

....to the next.

I knew the snow would more than likely be short-lived, but the cold temperatures were with us until yesterday.

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day.  Will that groundhog see his shadow?  From past experience, do you believe the groundhog is an accurate weather predictor?

I send along wishes for a great day and a wonderful week-end!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  2. Sad to say that the groundhog is wrong most of the time. It is fun though to think that we might have an early spring.
    Have a wonderful weekend Nellie!

  4. I am so glad you took pictures like that, it doesn't even look like the same place. I had no idea there was a road there. It just looked like fields.
I bet you are glad the snow doesn't say around for very long. Have a lovely day today.

  5. In my best singing voice:

What a difference a day makes... twenty four little hours.

Sorry! I couldn't carry a tune in a slop bucket!

  6. Nellie, Yippee, you had a nice little thaw. I love seeing the roads and grass. It has rained today...still plenty of big nasty snow drifts. Enjoy your Sunday, hope it's sunny. xoxo,Susie

  8. I will tell you, I am grateful no end for the end of it. Did you see the one model that predicted a heavy snow for us in 10 days? Our weather people explained about it and made me feel better.

  9. The sun is amazing when it shines and melts the snow. our patio is on the south side, so unless we get a lot of snow, the sun pretty much melts it too. Forget about the north side of the house - it takes forever there. Pretty pictrues.

  10. Wish that would happen here! Snowing all day today, and so cold. I'm ready for summer! Hope you're having a good weekend!

  11. Amazing. Love your comparison pictures. We got another six inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Another storm is coming in a few days. I swear we now live in Alaska.

  12. We enjoyed the sunshine on our way home today, and those warmer temperatures really felt great! As for trusting Mr. Groundhog, nope!! I just wait and see what comes next, because our weather here is very unpredictable, even with the most intelligent groundhog! :-)
