Seasonal decor out and about....

Happy Saturday to you!  Do you have some enjoyable week-end plans?  Are you a fan of Olympic competition?  This is the first week-end for that to be televised.  Sochi is nine hours ahead of us here in the Eastern Time Zone, so all the activity has already occurred by the time we are able to watch it.

Out and about - mainly to the Senior Center - I spied some readying for the season at hand.

It is easy to see that the receptionist has been busy!  The Senior Center is where I go to rehearse with the Women's Chorus, as well as where I go to play bridge.  There are many activities scheduled that are of interest to many!  Just a couple of weeks ago, an estimated 200 people attended a special program!

February is also the month for us to bring our awareness of heart health to the forefront.  Hopefully you are aware of all the ways you are able to take care of your heart, in addition to knowing all the signs that you may be experiencing a heart attack!

There are a few more February trimmings around, and they will appear in a future post!  Until then, spread some love around!  Let those you care about know you love them!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. That decor is so lovely and cheerful! Since my hubby's birthday is on Valentine's Day, we try to make it especially festive, with a special heart-shaped cake or something else appropriate. I hope your weekend will be enjoyable. Love you, Sister! :-)

  2. I am glad of the increased awareness of heart-related issues. It was national wear red for heart awareness yesterday and I wore red to the office.

  3. Yes, I enjoy watching the Olympics but I am not fanatical about it.

Red is my favorite color so I love seeing all the red this month. : )

  4. Beautiful decorations Nellie! My daughter has a birthday on Valentine's Day so February has always been a special month for me.

I tried your potato soup Nellie! It is richer tasting than mine. I loved it. Thank you!

  6. All this competing is not for me so I don't care to watch the Olympics and I know that I'm in the minority but that's OK.

I love how the seniors have decorated their centre.
I hope that you all have a great heart month, healthwise and lovewise.

    Hugs,
    JB

  8. Beautiful decorations. Good for you for being active in a chorus yet. That is outstanding. I used to sing in the church choir and enjoyed it so very much - but the voice went south on me! he he - can't carry a tune anymore.

  9. Such lovely Valentine decorations at the center. The girls and I have been enjoying all the figure skating competitions on tv. I'm glad to have something fun to watch during my recovery.
