Time for a book....or two

Happy Friday to you!  Were you affected by yesterday's storms?  Or - do you expect additional storms today and for the week-end?

February in the classroom was a good month to talk about Valentines and Presidents.  It was also easy to include information about our nation's capital.

Kids Discover - always a good source.  It is still being published.

A good map of Washington, DC

A good source for history.

Good pictures give interesting details.

Of course, these books come from a number of  years ago, but there is still some good information to be found in them.  Finding extra books for units of study was always something I enjoyed.

I hope you have some good week-end plans.  We expect to have a good one here!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate  your comments.

  1. Good morning, Sister! Those books look really interesting, and I'm sure the children enjoyed them, as the pictures are SO important! I was awakened once by thunder overnight, but went right back to sleep, and the sky looks really beautiful this morning. I have not heard of any damage around here, so I hope our area was safe. Have a lovely day!

  2. Have a lovely weekend Nellie, we are supposed to have a perfect weekend, lots of sunshine and warmer than normal temps. Lots to do outside.
I think though our March might be going to come in like a lion. If the weather men are right.
    Have a wonderful day.

  3. We had some crazy storms here in Central KY last night. There was so much lightning and thunder. Storms always make me sleep so soundly though :)

  4. Hi There, No problems from that storm.. We had thunder/lightning/winds/rain --but luckily, nothing severe.

Amazing how quickly we have gotten through February.... Time is flying for sure.

  7. The weather yesterday was one for the record books. Because of the heavy rain, temps in the low 50s and a massive snow cover we had many streets in town flooded.

  9. I love old books. When I was young one of my very favorites was The Little Golden Book Encyclopedias. They were so simply written and so full of information. I studied those relentlessly as a child. xo Diana
