"Bless this house, O Lord, we pray,
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls, so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out;
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace be over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
Ever open to joy and love."
While not the usual colors associated with Thanksgiving arrangements, this is what was provided for us in our yard for our table arrangement.

Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
You can use any colors you want! Any time of year! Especially when you can pick the flowers, on your own land. :-)ReplyDelete
I have a blog.
Please, you can now follow-me this blog.
Welcome to my blog.

I think your Knock-out roses are beautiful. Who needs traditional when you can have pretty? xo DianaReplyDelete

I love the poem! Blessings to you!
Everything looks lovely. Roses go with any holiday!ReplyDelete
Lovely poem. That's quite a few flowers for this time of year. Lucky, you!ReplyDelete
I can just hear you, with your lovely voice, singing this song! I'm curious that others have referred to it as a poem, as if they perhaps have not heard the tune that we know so well. If any of you are seeing follow-up comments, you might want to get onto YouTube and look for the song "Bless This House." It's beautiful, and most meaningful to me. Oh, and I took a picture of that wonderful rose bush on my way out of your driveway Thursday afternoon, and it has received some great reviews on my Facebook cover! :-)ReplyDelete
I have part of the prayer on a painting I have but I have never had the whole thing, so thanks I really like that.ReplyDelete
Your flowers are so pretty.
It looks really nice.
Thank you for posting the words of that always remembered song. My mother used to sing it and I can here her now. She had a lovely rich contralto voice.ReplyDelete
