It is time for a recipe! I made this to serve on Friday when our family was visiting. Creole Shrimp seemed to fit well with the Mardi Gras theme.
I have had this recipe for quite a number of years. It is from Betty Crocker.
1/2 cup minced onion
1 T. butter (I used olive oil instead.)
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1/4 cup diced celery
1 teaspoon minced parsley
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (6-oz.) tomato paste
2 1/2 cups water
1 lb. shrimp, shelled and deveined
- Saute onion in butter. Blend in rest of ingredients except shrimp. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes. Stir in shrimp. Cook five minutes. Serve over rice.
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
That recipe is share-worthy, and I'm sure my Facebook "family" will appreciate it a lot! As for the weather, we have not had any of that "predicted" snowfall here. Of course, I know how a few miles can change things, so it will be good to see what you got out your way. Have a wonderful Wednesday, Sister!ReplyDelete
This sounds so good Nellie!!ReplyDelete
I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Mmmmm good! Looks delicious on this cloudy, cold day.ReplyDelete
Yummy, I hope you don't have lots of snow today.ReplyDelete
Very tasty, for sure! Your shrimp would be a hit here, a must try! Hope you missed the snow. 1 degree below 0 here now with up to 20" snow in the next few days, they say...ReplyDelete
Nellie, It's better to be safe than sorry, as far as preparing the roads. You know, when all the snows are gone, there will be a need for major road repairs. The pot holes are already popping up everywhere. Time for some of your good food. :):) xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
Looks and sounds delicious! Wish I had some in front of me right now!ReplyDelete
Good luck with the weather!
