Time to cook....

Happy Wednesday to you!

It is time for a recipe!  I made this to serve on Friday when our family was visiting.  Creole Shrimp seemed to fit well with the Mardi Gras theme.

I have had this recipe for quite a number of years.  It is from Betty Crocker.

CREOLE SHRIMP
1/2 cup minced onion
1 T. butter (I used olive oil instead.)
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1/4 cup diced celery
1 teaspoon minced parsley
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
dash cayenne
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (6-oz.) tomato paste
2 1/2 cups water
1 lb. shrimp, shelled and deveined
- Saute onion in butter.  Blend in rest of ingredients except shrimp.  Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.  Stir in shrimp.  Cook five minutes.  Serve over rice.

Very tasty!

Some of our main roads were treated with brine on Tuesday in anticipation of some predicted light snowfall overnight.   So - that much was ready for the possible snow.  As I am pre-scheduling this post, it remains to be seen just what kind of weather will greet us on Wednesday morning.:-)  I'll be sure to let you know.:-)

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. That recipe is share-worthy, and I'm sure my Facebook "family" will appreciate it a lot! As for the weather, we have not had any of that "predicted" snowfall here. Of course, I know how a few miles can change things, so it will be good to see what you got out your way. Have a wonderful Wednesday, Sister!

  5. Very tasty, for sure! Your shrimp would be a hit here, a must try! Hope you missed the snow. 1 degree below 0 here now with up to 20" snow in the next few days, they say...

  6. Nellie, It's better to be safe than sorry, as far as preparing the roads. You know, when all the snows are gone, there will be a need for major road repairs. The pot holes are already popping up everywhere. Time for some of your good food. :):) xoxo,Susie
